University of Twente and BRIN collaborate on improving science, technology and human resources

BRIN, the National Research and Innovation Agency (Indonesia) and University of Twente are collaborating to improve the quality and quantity of science and technology human resources through a research-based postgraduate program (Degree by Research, DbR). This DbR program is a learning program to increase the capacity of human resources, both state civil servants and non-state civil servants, through research-based formal education. This was realized by the signing of a cooperation agreement at the end of February 2023.

The agreement was signed by Edy Giri Rachman Putra from BRIN and Freek van der Meer as Dean of ITC. This collaboration will provide an opportunity to participate in networking and collaboration by exchanging knowledge, expertise and experience between both institutes.

"We are pleased to be working with the University of Twente in terms of increasing the capacity and qualifications of Indonesian science and technology human resources in building superior human resources in line with national development goals towards an advanced Indonesia. We hope that this collaboration can increase research collaboration and strengthen the innovation ecosystem through mastery of Science and Technology in Indonesia," said Edy Giri. On a separate occasion, Freek van der Meer said that this collaboration is expected to address the challenges of global sustainable development not only now but also in the future.
