Housing and accommodation

Become a high-skilled geospatial professional

Housing requirements differ for our programmes. In order to provide you with the most accurate information, please select which ITC programme applies to you:

  • Geo-information Science and Earth Observation graduate, degree, diploma or certificate programme students

Upon receipt of your arrival form, ITC will make a reservation for you in the ITC International Hotel.

If you follow a course with a duration of up to and including 12 months, your stay at the ITC International Hotel is obligatory for the full period.

If you follow a course with a duration of 13 months or longer, your stay at the ITC International Hotel is obligatory for the first 12 months. If there are rooms available, an extension is possible but there is no guarantee the Hotel can accommodate you for the 2nd year of your studies.

Upon your arrival, personnel at the front desk will welcome and advise you of the terms and conditions of your stay at the ITC International Hotel.

    Deposit

Only students who do not receive their allowance through ITC, will be requested to pay a deposit at the Hotel of € 485 and the rent of the current month upon arrival at the hotel. The deposit will either be returned or balanced with your final rental month.

The hotel will provide you regularly with Proforma invoices. This is just to inform you how much you need to pay after you have received your allowance in your bank account.

Your first invoice will be sent to you at the end of the month and will include the days of the month of arrival and the upcoming month.

    Student rate

Accommodation in the ITC International Hotel is subsidized. An ITC participant may benefit from the special subsidized student rate, no earlier than three days before the course begins and no longer than three days after the official course closing ceremony. Any stay at the hotel outside these conditions will be charged at a much higher commercial hotel rate.

    Family and visiting relatives

Family members wishing to come for a short visit can be accommodated by the ITC International Hotel, either with an extra bed or a reduced rate of accommodation. However, the ITC International Hotel does not have family accommodation and therefore we do not advise bringing family members for a long-term stay.

  • Spatial Engineering Master's students non-EU nationality

    Students from outside the EU
Students in the Master's programme Spatial Engineering from outside the European Union will receive a mail from The University of Twente with a link to a website where you need to make your reservation in the ITC International Hotel.

Students with an OKP or ITC Scholarship
ITC will make a reservation in the ITC International Hotel for students outside the European Union, with an OKP or ITC Scholarship.

Your stay at the ITC International Hotel is obligatory for the first 12 months. If there are rooms available, an extension is possible but there is no guarantee the Hotel can accommodate you for the 2nd year of your studies.

  • Spatial Engineering Master's students EU nationality

Students in the Master's programme Spatial Engineering with an EU nationality need to make their own reservations for accommodation. They should create an account in Roomspot, an online platform where students can find an overview of the available rooms and independent accommodation.

Note: in Roomspot you can consider opting for the ITC International Hotel where the non-EU Spatial Engineering students are accommodated.

More information can be found on the housing website of the University of Twente.
