The Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) at the University of Twente has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NL Space Campus and other partners to support the continued development of OneSpaceHub — a national initiative designed to foster space entrepreneurship from idea to scale-up.
This new milestone builds on the foundation laid in 2023, when a consortium led by NL Space Campus received a grant from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) to launch the OneSpaceHub programme. Since then, the initiative has grown into a powerful network that connects talent, knowledge, and entrepreneurship across the Dutch space ecosystem. The OneSpaceHub platform is the most important outcome of this program's first phase. It gathers all relevant information across partners and programs for space enthusiasts and future entrepreneurs. The platform aims to offer guidance and support for newcomers at every phase of their entrepreneurial journey in space.
From vision to reality
OneSpaceHub was created to strengthen the early stages of entrepreneurship — from education and activation to pre-incubation and incubation. By linking and enhancing existing programmes, the initiative offers a unified and accessible pathway for space start-ups across all Dutch provinces. The signing of the MoU in 2025 marks a key step in transitioning from a temporary collaboration to a sustainable national structure.
The role of ITC and partners
With its strong international reputation in geo-information and space data applications, ITC plays a vital role in supporting entrepreneurs. Through education, mentorship, and technical guidance, ITC helps start-ups turn their ideas into scalable solutions. Other partners — including PLNT Leiden, TU Delft, Radboud University, and the Leiden Instrumentmakers School — contribute their expertise in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.
A future-oriented ecosystem
The global space sector is expanding rapidly, with applications ranging from agriculture and climate monitoring to urban development. OneSpaceHub responds to this trend by building an ecosystem focused on knowledge sharing, collaboration, and access to resources. The mission is clear: to generate more successful space start-ups and scale-ups in the Netherlands and to strengthen the country’s international position in the space domain.
