WP5 will develop and deliver insights into the socio-economic implications of changes in the national water allocation and the adaptive capacity of farmers at the national, regional, and local levels, which will be linked to improve water allocation and water governance. Furthermore, we will evaluate the earning capacity of farmers (and agricultural entrepreneurs) for their investments in sustainable agriculture. As such, this WP will provide insights and innovations that will contribute to climate-robust agricultural production and water management systems in the Netherlands.
