This workshop will focus specifically on decision-making in disaster resilience of the built environment for housing and settlements. The workshop will bring together experts working in different disciplines related to DRR to discuss the effectiveness of assistance mechanisms. In the workshop, we will: 1) jointly discuss relationships between factors contributing to decision-making in disaster resilience of the built environment (specifically housing and settlements) in the contexts of flooding, earthquakes and hurricanes 2) discuss and assess the effectiveness of recovery and resilience assistance mechanisms.

This workshop is supported by a collaboration grant from the University of Twente and Vrije University Amsterdam to bring together technical and social sciences for a more holistic and interdisciplinary understanding. Through this grant, we are hosting a series of expert workshops. This is our final event where we also share our preliminary findings with you for further reflection.
