ITC's GeoScience Laboratory

The spectroscopy laboratory has several spectrometers that can cover different parts of the electro-magnetic spectrum, measure single points or image a larger area, and can be deployed indoors or outdoors. Spectral measurements allow to do rapid chemical analysis and are used to ground truth remote sensing observations.

Going to the field? Need sample rings, sample bags, tools to dig... Further, we have analytical and spectroscopy techniques ready to take to the field.

The ITC laboratory has a range of geophysical field equipment for shallow sub-surface investigations as well as portable handheld instruments to measure rock and soil properties. These offer research opportunities to interpret the physical properties related to the nature of the sub-surface geology, regolith and soil.

In the soil science lab you find the SOPs to determine textures and hydraulic conductivities of soils. All SOPs and equipment are ready to use.

ITC's GeoScience Lab has multiple drones (fixed wing, multi-copters). Togheter with different detectors we are improving the way drones navigate, communicate, and analyze their environment.

The sample preparation lab has all the equipment to fragment your samples in smaller pieces: stone cutters, grinders, saws, polishing equipment. Samples can be dried and sieved. 

The enviromental lab has sensors to analyze water samples and hyperspectral radiometer to measure radiance and irrandiance in the range of UV-VIS.
