New Year's gathering 2021 and UT in the media prize 2020

During the online New Year's speech by Victor van der Chijs on Monday, 4 January 2021, Van der Chijs spoke about: Shaping2030. "It is a process that is bursting with energy, as you can see for example in the various Shaping Expert Groups. We are pioneers in the Netherlands. For example, we are focusing strongly on the range of courses on offer at ECIU University. The hybrid form of teaching and working is future-proof. We intend to find a good balance within it".

"Our Life Long Learning activities, for example in the Apeldoorn region, and the cooperation with partners such as the Free University of Amsterdam really started last year".

In 2021 the UT celebrates its 60th anniversary. So there is a lot to celebrate. The theme of the anniversary year is 'every connection has a story'.

Some 600 colleagues attended the online New Year's meeting and they enjoyed the extensive broadcast, the New Year's wish of Victor van der Chijs, the presentation of the media prizes and a pub quiz presented by Tom Kuipers van Let's Quiz.

Ruud Verdaasdonk, an expert in 'corona inventions', won the Media Prize 2020. The second prize was for Peter-Paul Verbeek because of the app: the corona detector. Detlef Lohse won the third prize with his mouth mask plea in the media. The student prize went again to Solar Team Twente, which was visible unchanged in the run-up to Australia. Ellen van der Gaag turned out to be the most successful PhD student in the media, she regularly appeared on TV with the subject 'nutrition can reduce respiratory tract infections in children'. The UT in the Social Media Prize was for Cristina Zaga. Among other things, she pleads for Human Touch, High Tech. Her winning photo can be found here on Twitter.
