Introducing the ITC Library

The ITC Library is a specialized scientific library on Remote Sensing and GIS (Geographical Information Sciences). The ITC Library is run by ITC information specialists. The library is open to all students and staff and supports the education and research at ITC. 

Information about the collection can be found in the Library Catalogue: FindUT. This automated catalog, contains bibliographic data on books, periodicals, congress proceedings, reports, reference books, theses, maps, and Audio-Visual Materials (AVM). The ITC Library collects the complete scientific output of the Institute and makes this visible to the outside world. The catalog is accessible via the internet. Besides the catalog, the library provides full access to many other specialized data sources.

The library offers training courses for learning information skills for all students at ITC. We support staff and students with their personal information management by introducing Reference Managers like Endnote and Mendeley. Especially for PhD Students, it is necessary that they master the skills to find relevant information to support their research.

The web page Services to Alumni gives an overview of the possibilities for ITC Alumni. Distant students get support from the Library too.

When you wish to borrow books or articles presently not available in the ITC Library, there is the possibility of Inter Library Loan (ILL).

ITC students need to bring their UTwente student cards to borrow books and extend loan periods. Reservations can be made online. The standard loan period for books is 4 weeks; an extension of this period is possible unless there is a reservation for the publication. Journals and reference books cannot be borrowed.
