From smartphones to social media platforms to GPS satellites, geographic technologies promise smooth, integrated, and efficient societies, even as those visions directly conflict with and exploit the ways users experience them. This talk by prof. Craig Dalton engages how technologies capture and deploy our individualized geographic data in pursuit of economic gain, and how we users can individually and collectively exert greater control over those technologies to live with them safely and ethically.
