My name is Arsha Yuditha Amiranti. I’m an enthusiast in observing the earth. Understanding the earth -from maps, satellite imagery, aerial photography, GNSS, you name it- is my passion. That is one of many reasons I’m continuing from a bachelor of geodetic engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to obtain a master's degree in Geoinformatics at University of Twente (UT). Besides studying, I also active in Indonesia traditional dance group to address my hobby and a member of the Faculty Council in my faculty Geo-Information Sciences and Earth Observation (ITC).
Why University of Twente?
With the power of word of mouth, I dig more information about the University of Twente that I’ve received from the previous students: lecturers, professors, colleagues, friends. Ranked in 65th position in the Reuters's 2017 European Most Innovative Universities, their collaboration with other three technology universities under the umbrella of 4TU and a partner in the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) makes me assure that this is the university that I want to continue my study with.
Along with that, the University of Twente provides opportunities to discover and have in-depth knowledge on the subject that I’m interested in with their applicative approach.
Living in the Netherlands
I have been desired to live abroad and have international exposures. Therefore I’m so excited to have the opportunity to study in Enschede, the Netherlands. Why here? With all the historical relationship and story between Indonesia and the Netherlands many years ago builds my curiosity to discover and experience living here myself. Honestly, I don’t feel any drastically change besides the weather that is unpredictable.
Furthermore, Enschede is a perfect city for studying. Enschede is a small city, calm, start-ups are everywhere, also bunches of student facilities to accommodate studying experience in order for us to focus on our studies.
