ResearchTo keep abreast of scientific and technical developments that are relevant for the land administration profession, the School has developed an attractive research programme. In keeping with the ITC tradition in international education, the School sponsors research at MSc and PhD levels for students from countries all over the world. PhD researchITC has a growing number of PhD researchers. The standard period for PhD research is three years, with a so-called qualifier period of maximum 6 months prior to that, during which the final research proposal is written, which has to be approved by the promotor and co-promotor. Research is carried out within the ITC research projects. PhD research can be carried in several ways, although the most popular version is the so-called sandwich PhD, in which the PhD research is carried out in collaboration with an organization in the researchers own country. Research is financed through fellowships from funding organisations, or on a cost-sharing basis. For more information on application procedures, please visit the PhD research pages. Currently, the following PhD researchers are enrolled in research projects under the School for Land Administration Studies:
MSc researchMSc research work has been published at ITC on the land restitution process in Guatemala, land tenure management in informal settlements in Kenya, and land value information in support of land reform in Namibia. Below, you can find some online papers on land management and administration, presented at the ITC 55 years Lustrum Conference Spatial Information for Civil Society:
To find other publications, you can use the ITC Library Catalogue and/or ITC Academic Output.
