Search for Satellites and Sensors

Band width (μm)

Gives the full width at half maximum (FWHM) expressed in 10e-6m (micrometer). Alias 'range' or 'spectral resolution'

Orbit height (km)

Gives the average altitude (in kilometers) of the satellite from the Earth surface.

Orbit type

Describes the type of orbit in which the satellite is positioned.

Organisation

Describes the organisation that maintains the satellite.

Operational since

Gives the year in which the satellite is launched.

Out of service since

Gives the year in which the satellite was taken out of active service.

Range (μm)

Gives the full width at half maximum (FWHM) expressed in 10e-6m (micrometer). Alias 'Bandwidth' or 'Spectral Resolution'.

Repeat cycle (days)

Gives the time in days between two successive identical orbits. If nothing is mentioned the satellite is positioned in an geostationary orbit.

Resolution (m)

Gives the spatial resolution that is measure in the particular band. If two numbers are given, the resolution is variable. Then the minimum and maximum resolution are given.

Revisit time (days)

Gives the time between two successive image acquisitions over the same location on Earth.

Spectrum

Describes which general part of the electro-magnetic spectrum is measured, emitted or absorbed.

Swath width (km)

Gives the width of the area (in kilometers) that is observed by the satellite. If two numbers are given, the swath width is variable. Then the minimum and maximum swath width are given.

Wavelength (μm)

Describes the part of the magnetic spectrum that is measured by a specific band. If just one number is given this is the center of the band. When two numbers are given these are resp. the minimum and maximum half width of the band maximum.
