Here I have shortlisted project activities that I took part:
MATRA project, Georgia, 2009-2012
-
Overall goal of the project: Institutional capacity building in disaster risk reduction (DRR) via introduction of modern spatial approaches and technologies and risk communication strategy in spatial planning in Georgia. My role was to train Georgian counterparts in creating Web based geo-data dissemination system.
-
After initial trainings, we have applied OGC-proof "SDI Light" approach that is used for teaching at ITC. Stack consists of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Mapserver, Openlayers.js library. A bit of help of PHP and Jquery library made the portal look more dynamic and interactive. See here the result. Project officially ends in May 2012.
HYSENSE project, Hungary, 2002
-
The Sajó River basin is one of the most industrialized regions in Hungary. Consequently, pollution has been a serious problem for many years. Thus, the region is still in need of a good monitoring system for water quality, as the river is the main medium of pollution transport.
-
My role was to investigate approaches of quantification of water quality parameters (TSM and CHL) using imaging spectrometry. The method is based on field spectrometry measurements, which were up-scaled to the spectral resolution of hyperspectral airborne sensors (ROSIS, DAIS) flown over the Sajó floodplain.
A complete text of the investigation is available here.
