At ITC, my tasks are in the fields of education, research and consulting in cartography, geovisualization and use and user issues.

For more information about ITC, the Department of Geo-Information Processing and its staff: please click the ITC logo in the top left hand corner.

My PhD-research concentrated on the use of maps in the exploration of geographic data. For more information and demonstrations of the test sessions: please refer to my research pages.

Use and user issues are the fields in geo-information processing I am most interested in. I am Chairman of the Commission on Use and User Issues of the International Cartographic Association (ICA). I am also a member of the ICA commission on Maps and the Internet where I am dealing with the use and users of web maps in particular.
