The discussions focussed on the cooperation in the joint MSc courses with the School of Urban Studies (SUS) and the School of Resource and Environmental Science (SRES). Another joint activity is the Asia-Link project. Some possibilities for joint research were discussed (river floods management), particularly for submission to the EU-6th Framework Programme. Another initiative that will be explored is the linking of our libraries. For this purpose, our librarian will visit Wuhan later this year.

Wuhan University celebrates its 110 birthday this year. As part of the festivities, ITC could join in with its "25 years in China" celebration. This event will most likely take place in October.

In the afternoon the delegation had a "high tea" with the 11 students from Wuhan University who are here for 6 months to write their MSc thesis in the framework of the joint MSc course on Urban Planning and Management. In the evening the ITC directorate offered the delegation a Chinese dinner in the Hong Kong restaurant. The visit was very successful.
