Our mission:
ISPRS Working group III/3 aims to promote the acquisition of geo-information by sensors that generate point clouds, such as laser scanners. To this purpose, the WG organises workshops to exchange the latest developments on processing point clouds. Furthermore the WG provides (links to) publicly available datasets and organises international comparative tests on the performance of algorithms for processing point clouds for various applications.

Terms of Reference:

  • Information extraction from laser scanner data
  • Segmentation of point clouds
  • Quality analysis of laser scanner data and derived information
  • Cooperation with WG V/3 (Terrestrial laser scanning) and WG III/4 (Automatic image interpretation for 3D city modelling)

  • The proceedings of the workshop Laser Scanning 2007 and SilviLaser 2007 in Espoo are now available online.
