Data sets
Data sets composed by WG III/3
Airborne laser scanning data sets for testing the performance of filtering algorithms have been composed for the comparative test organised in the previous congress period (2000-2004). Data sets with various complexity and point density, as well as the manually made reference data sets can still be downloaded.
Airborne laser scanning data sets of various forest types are provided in the framework of the comparative Test on Tree Extraction algorithms. This test is a joint activity of the ISPRS WG III/3 and the EuroSDR Commission II and is coordinated by the Finnish Geodetic Institute.
Other public domain laser scanning data sets
A nice collection of building facades scanned with a terrestrial laser scanner is provided by Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics at the Leibniz University of Hannover
Terrestrial laser scanner data sets of two historic buildings are available from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources, U.S.A., provides a large airborne laser scanning data set.
Atlas: The Louisiana Statewide GIS contains a directory with airborne laser scanning data.
Data samples can be obtained of NASA's full waveform scanner SLICER.
Lidar data of Idaho, U.S.A., can be obtained from the Inside Idaho Interactive Numeric & Spatial Information Data Engine.
