Background

Kourosh Khoshelham received an MSc in photogrammetry from the University of Tehran in 2000, and a PhD in photogrammetry and laser scanning from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004. Between 2005 and 2007 he worked at the University of Tehran as an assistant professor where he was involved in teaching and research in photogrammetry and remote sensing. He joined Delft University of Technology as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2007, and was appointed as an assistant professor in 2008. Since October 2010 Kourosh works as an assistant professor at ITC Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation of the University of Twente.

Activities in Education

During the past seven years Kourosh has taught several courses in Tehran and Delft, including: image processing, remote sensing photogrammetry and digital terrain modeling. At ITC, he is involved in GFM modules 4, 6, 11, 12 and 13. He has been the supervisor of several undergraduate student projects and about 15 MSc students.

Research interests

His main research interests include pattern recognition and information extraction from image and laser scanning data, indoor mapping and navigation using range cameras, UAV photogrammetry and mobile mapping.
