A consortium of international consultants assisted the Ministry of Nature and Environment (MNE) in Mongolia with the establishment of a national geo-information centre.
The consortium consisted of Haskoning (lead agency), ITC, EARS and Hofung.
The project had four components:
- Natural Resource Management components
- Database Management component
- Early Warning and Decision Making component
- Human Resources component. ITC is involved in each of these.
The training was done entirely by ITC and the training programme has been considerable: five MSc, one PhD, two Master, one Diploma and six short courses.
