This PhD research aims to develop a theory-based evaluation framework for urban eGovernment systems in Africa, from the point of view of demand-side stakeholders. The empirical base for this research is the AbujaGIS (www.abujagis.com/), a land information system that aims to provide a comprehensive, all-inclusive, foolproof and state-of-the-art computerized geospatial data infrastructure for the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria.
This research conceptualizes land information systems as citizen-centric, social interventions aimed at realizing the expectations of demand-side stakeholders. It is funded by the ITC-RECTAS (http://www.rectas.org/) joint research program. The project is conducted by Adewale Akingbade under the supervision of Dr. Olajide Kufoniyi of RECTAS, Dr. Yola Georgiadou and Prof. Dr. Anne van der Veen of ITC.
