Map Middle East - UAE

A Path to Address New Dimensions

The Sixth Annual Middle East Conference and Exhibition on Geospatial Technology and Applications, Map Middle East 2010 is scheduled to be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from March 22 - 24, 2010. An initiative of GIS Development - a geospatial media company, Map Middle East has been designed for building networks to enable g-lateral ties in the Middle East region for the geospatial community for almost six years now.

Strategically, Middle East is one of the most important regions of the world. Map Middle East aims to firmly place ‘geospatial knowledge’ at the heart of economic agenda of the Middle East and the North African nations. Map Middle East serves as a podium for the geospatial community to share the latest developments in the field of geospatial information, technology and applications to a large gathering of people, which include top decision makers, existing as well as prospective users, academicians, vendors, policy makers and representatives of various regional and international organizations. The conference has been pioneering the efforts to promote the understanding and awareness of geospatial information as a key component of any strategy towards achieving economic growth and the nations of the region have started embracing geospatial technologies and sciences in an assertive manner.

Sanjay Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, GIS Development said, “Abu Dhabi has emerged as a dedicated economic destination with many market opportunities for geospatial industry. I am confident that like the previous years, this year too, Map Middle East will serve as a knowledge hub for the geospatial community and its user segments in the region.”

Geospatial technologies have become an integral part of almost every aspect of our life that can associate itself with a “Latitude/Longitude” coordinate. Governments and private organisations around the globe have realised the importance of being “Geospatially Aware” and are investing in adopting and implementing geospatial technologies as a component to their existing or new work flow management systems.
