Day of the International Student
The Hague, 7 November 2009
The fourth annual Day of the International Student, organized by Nuffic on Saturday 7 November, was the biggest ever, drawing more than 2300 (of which over 100 ITC participants!) international students to the World Forum in The Hague to join in the event.
Nuffic organizes the Day of the International Student each year as a way of thanking all the many students from around the globe who have chosen the Netherlands as their study destination. This fact was emphasized by Nuffic Director Sander van den Eijnden in his brief introductory speech, which he delivered after the Rocky Show Brass Band had warmed up the audience with their smooth Latin-American rhythms.
This year’s event was once again made possible thanks to the generous support of the Municipality of The Hague and donations from sponsors and of course its 65 Nuffic volunteers and the staff of World Forum. They were working hard to pull the event off without a hitch.
Check out the photographs and the reviews of the event. The winners of the lotery have also been announced on the DIS2009 site!
