Mak Holl Nuffic Alumni Association present at NSDI Conference
In the period 26-28 November 2009 the International Conference with title: 1st Croatian NSDI and INSPIRE Day and the Conference Cartography and Geoinformation ( www.kartografija.hr/varazdin/ocs-2.1.2/index.php/kig2009/varazdin), was organised by the Croatian Cartographic Society and the State Geodetic Administration of Croatia. This event took place in the premises of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, in the charming city of Varaždin, Croatia.
At the opening ceremony Tihomir Hunjak, Dean if the Faculty of Organisation and Informatics, the President of the Organising Committee Prof. Miljenko Lapaine and Director of the State Geodetic Administration Prof. Zeljko Bacic, addressed the audience with welcoming speeches and underlining the importance of the development of NSDI as an issue which contributes the sustainable development of the Republic of Croatia but also in the developing and in transition countries in the region.
Representatives from the Republic of Macedonia were present on the conference and they gave their contribution to the very well organised and fruitful conference. Prof. Zlatko Srbinoski from the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Skopje presented a paper: Basic state map for GIS and Dimo Todorovski, MSc, President of the Mak Holl Nuffic Alumni Association presented a paper: Spatial Data – the fundament for the NSDI in Republic of Macedonia.
The conference was followed with social events and all the participants enjoyed the special occasion opening of the Map Gallery: Cartography of Varaždin, sightseeing of the city of Varaždin and the study tour to the beautiful region of Medzumurje.
The president of Mak Holl Nufiic Alumni Association Dimo Todorovski used this opportunity to inform all interested participants about:
- Educational programmes and possibilities for studies in the Netherlands, funding, possibilities for obtaining scholarships
- Activities of the Mak Holl Nuffic Alumni Association and
- ITC - general info, knowledge field, programmes/courses, research.
