Introducing the CAB Abstracts database

Open the CAB Abstracts database Limited access for non-ITC users

The CAB Abstracts database covers the subject of agriculture in the broadest sense

The database contains over 4 million records from over 11,000 journals, books, conferences, reports, and other kinds of literature published internationally.

Subject coverage:

  • Agriculture, including animal production and welfare, horticulture, crop science and protection, applied economics and rural studies
  • Animal and Veterinary Sciences, including animal nutrition, entomology, aquaculture and equine science
  • Environmental Sciences, including, ecology and climate change, forestry, soil science, and hydrology
  • Human Health, Food and Nutrition, including food science and communicable diseases
  • Leisure and Tourism
  • Microbiology and parasitology, including mycology, bacteriology and virology
  • Plant Sciences, including biotechnology, plant protection, and crop science

For a complete overview see: http://www.cabi.org/files/databasecoveragepages.pdf

Each record has been hand-selected by CABI's subject specialists. CAB Abstracts include information from more key, internationally recognized journals than any other database.

The main thing that sets CAB Abstracts apart from other databases is that the database also includes records from less well-known publications, including foreign language journals, independent publishers, and learned societies.

Coverage/Access for ITC is from 1989 to the present. The database is updated monthly and 180,000 records are added annually.
