Contract research and development
As the discovery of new knowledge leads to higher-quality education and support for capacity building, ITC believes it is very important to be active in research projects. ITC carries out contract research for a wide variety of agencies worldwide, often as part of a larger international research network.
Example
An example of an ITC research project is the Kyoto TGAL research project:
- Think Global Act Local, Action Research for Sustainable Forest Management.
This project is directed from the University of Twente, with funding from Netherlands Development Cooperation (DGIS) and research and development partners in Nepal (ICIMOD), Tanzania (University of Dar es Salaam), Senegal (ENDA) and the Netherlands (ITC and UT).
