Seminar Internationalization at Home
The increase in UT international students from within and outside of the EU has spurred on efforts to improve internationalization issues and has resulted in the internationaliseringsvisie 2010-2014. The project group Acculturation is one of the groups focussing on bringing about the changes outlined in this internationaliseringsvisie. In 2012 this group focusses on the role of teachers, programme directors and programme coordinators in the international classroom and the internationalization of UT programmes, also known as Internationalization at Home (I@H).
You are hereby cordially invited to join us in addressing these topics at the (I@H) seminar on Tuesday 22 May from 12:30 until 16:30 at the Vrijhof Amphitheater.
The seminar will focus on the importance of UT programme internationalization in the 21st century, opportunities and bottlenecks regarding programme internationalization and ways in which UT teachers might respond to these developments.
The preliminary programme is as follows:
A general introduction will be given by national experts in Internationalization at Home, followed by a panel debate where practical examples of programme internationalization, instruction language and acculturation will be considered. Two representatives from Maastricht University have been invited to share their expertise gained from experiences with Saudi-Arabian students. Needless to say your responses, participation and questions following the panel debate are most welcome.
