On behalf of the Earth Observation Science Department you are invited to attend a presentation entitled

Cutting-edge full 3D GIS technology at LIESMARS

by

Prof. Zhu Qing, Key State Laboratory LIESMARS, Wuhan University, China

Abstract:

Aiming at the integrative management and comprehensive applications of large-scale 3D geospatial information covering the full 3D space of a city, after analyzing the basic features of 3D GIS, the two critical bottleneck problems of rapid accurate 3D modeling and general-purpose 3D GIS platform are introduced in detail. According to the research and development at LIESMARS, full 3D GIS case study-GeoScope and its applications are presented, which is the result of a National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 key program). Otherwise, recent progress in photogrammetry-based 3D modeling is also illustrated, such kind of exploratory research are supported by the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
