PhD Day
Overview
ITC provides an excellent environment for high quality research in Geo-information science and Earth Observation. After joining the University of Twente in 2010, an international review committee valued the research at ITC as “very good”. More than 180 candidates have successfully completed their PhD studies since 1990 and are propagating their knowledge and techniques across the globe. At this moment 145 PhD students are registered in the ITC graduate programme. This achievement is only possible as a result of the strong commitment of ITC to research and the high quality PhD researchers who engage in multidisciplinary research topics of international standard.
In order to share their results the Bureau Research, together with IPC (ITC PhD Committee), organizes a one-day conference every year: the ITC PhD day. This year’s programme comprises 9 contributions by ITC PhD students in 3 plenary sessions ‘sandwiched’ by 3 keynotes illustrating the role of science in society. A poster session is also included. The titles of the 10 posters are listed in the back of this booklet. They are on display during the entire day in front of the Auditorium.
The publication of documents
A hard-copy abstract book will be distributed at the day itself.
The organization
The conference is organized by a committee consisting of the ITC Bureau Research Coordination and members of the ITC PhD Community (IPC).
