International Symposium on Digital Earth (ISDE7) - Australia
The International Society of Digital Earth (ISDE) is dedicated to promoting the use of digital technologies to create the vision of digital earth. Digital earth is vital to solving the world’s energy shortages, natural resources depletion, climate change and in responding to disasters.
In 2011 ISDE7 is being held in conjunction with the WALIS Forum. As the leading GIS Conference in Australia, the WALIS Forum attracts over 700 delegates from a diverse range of professions with an emphasis on geographic information systems (GIS) and those who would like to find out how they can harness GIS to improve their business.
Also joining ISDE7-WALIS is the State Natural Resource Management Conference, appealing to the community-led regional organisations responsible for coordinating and delivering natural resource management in WA. The population is placing pressures on natural resources, including dwindling water resources for residential and industrial use and clearing of native vegetation for urban development.
Finally the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information is taking this opportunity to combine its annual conference with ISDE7-WALIS.
The Conference offers an exciting program to delegates The combined communities of digital earth modellers, spatial scientists and those involved in conservation and sustainable management will come together to network and share valuable insights.
The Conference will be held at the world class Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 August 2011. The Conference venue is ideally situated in centre of Perth overlooking the magnificent Swan River and is within walking distance of many hotels and restaurants.
