10th International Congress of Geomatics: Geodesy, Topography and Cadastre in Real-Time - Costa Rica

The Professional Association of Engineering Surveyors of Costa Rica (CIT), through its Continuous Education Commission, has been hard at work shaping the content of this activity. This year, the main subject of the Congress will be Geomatics as a discipline that integrates capture and processing of geo-spatial data. In recent years, the professional practice of land surveyors has moved towards modernization. Many world nations have adopted a real
strengthening of the legal security of land registration. Costa Rica has not been an exception: currently, the country has a Real Estate Registry, digital mapping of cadastral information, and installation of the CORS stations network of to expand the use of GPS technology, among others. Consequently, it is necessary to provide spaces for constant training and updating to enable professionals to keep at the forefront of the demands of their profession.
During this Congress, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technology (software and computer) offered on the topography, land registry and geodesy market. They will also promote knowledge-sharing with specialists from other countries, through the dissemination of advances, work, research and technical experiences.
Within the framework of the Congress, a special recognition will be given to the schools of Topographic Engineering of the National University (UNA) and the University of Costa Rica (UCR), as a way to pay homage to their long history in the training of professionals and the contribution made to the national and social development of the country.
