International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRC) - Switzerland
From Thoughts to Action
GRF Davos will organize it's 3rd International Disaster and Risk Conference from 30 May - 3 June, 2010. After a very successful start with the IDRC Davos Conferences in 2006 and 2008 with 900 resp. 1200 participants from over 100 countries and the two regional IDRC Conferences 2007 in Harbin and 2009 in Chengdu, the International Risk and Disaster Conference IDRC is back home in Davos.
Future risk management solutions will undoubtedly involve a mix of approaches, from state-of-the art technology to forward-thinking policy making and wise institutional governance. Experts from all over the world are invited to submit abstracts and contribute to the unique, interdisciplinary dialogue in Davos. The underlying perspective of IDRC Davos 2010 is global, but with a particular focus on similarities and differences between regions of the world, representing various phases of development, political systems, and societal and environmental conditions.
This international conference is aimed at:
- an audience of academics and researchers,
- policy and decision makers,
- and practitioners and experts from the private sector.
