General Plan of Activities
Introduction
In order to achieve the goals expressed in its Terms of Reference, the
WG is organising concrete activities within its 4-year time plan. Below
we list our proposed activities planned up to 2012. This activity plan
will be updated and augmented continuously.
In our activities mentioned below we will co-operate with other ISPRS
WGs and Technical Commissions, ISPRS Members, as well as WGs of other
related Societies.
Planned activities:
- Regular exchange of information with the WG
members through letters.
- Establishment of a WEB page for the working
group.
- Announcement on our WEB page of publications in
our fields (books, journals, proceedings, paper collections,
bibliographic collections etc.), with emphasis on free electronic
material.
- Collection and free access at our WEB page of
proceedings and tutorial notes of ISPRS events.
- Active participation in the Technical
Commission III Symposium in 2010 and the 22nd ISPRS Congress, September
2012, Melbourne.
- Organisation of events (workshops, seminars,
tutorials). Currently, the following events are planned
- Workshop "Object Extraction for 3D City
Models, Road Databases and Traffic Monitoring (CMRT09)" in co-operation
with WG III/5, 1-4 September 2009, Paris, France, in conjunction with
the Workshop on Laserscanning (WG III/2).
- A workshop on Photogrammetric Image Analysis
in co-operation with WG III/5 is planned for 2011
- Other events, especially for 2010-2012, will
be proposed at a later stage.
- Collection of relevant WEB links, incl. related
newsgroups and list servers, hardware and software companies.
- Collection of test data sets for the evaluation
of object extraction techniques.
- Preparation of annual reports for ISPRS, as
well as preparation of reports on WG-cosponsored events and WG news to
be published in the ISPRS Highlights.
- Organisation of a Business Meeting during the
Technical Commission III Symposium and participation in Com. III
Business Meetings, incl. formulation of WG-related resolutions for the
next ISPRS Congress.
