Advanced RF Sensors and Remote Sensing Instruments 2009

Spectrum of the Workshop

The first Workshop on Advanced RF Sensors was held in December 2006 and a great variety of interesting achievements and new ideas were presented. Since then several missions with RF instrumentation have been launched in Europe and all over the world, others are close to launch or are under preparation. RF and microwave instrumentation has clearly developed to be the workhorse for global environmental research and operational monitoring. In this 2nd workshop the scope is being widened to include RF space science sensors as well.

The spectrum of this workshop covers new ideas in preparing the future for advanced remote sensing instruments, active and passive, subsystems, technology as well as techniques.

Radiometer and sounding instruments cover wavelengths to the mm wave end. Recent technological developments and techniques now also allow the exploitation of the higher frequency bands by active EO instruments. Contributions discussing such possibilities are highly welcome.

As last time the European Space Agency will host this workshop on “Advanced Remote Sensing Instruments” on the 16th, 17th and 18th of November 2009 at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Industry, Researchers and Engineers active in the field are cordially invited to participate and to present their latest findings.
